Its a really good food. I don't have a great deal of super healthy food to work with where I now live, and I wanted a healthful breakfast food. I researched Muesli a little bit, and embarked on my journey! I soaked oats in water overnight, and the next morning I added half of an apple diced up, cinnamon, and honey. It was quite good! For a couple of mornings I soaked the oats in apple cider we had on hand. Yummy. I also am now adding some vanilla flavoring. In my husband's Muesli this morning, I added a sliced banana instead of a half an apple. Thats the good thing about Muesli is that you can diversify and use what you have! I have had some major changes in my life the last couple of months. August 12 I got married to Eric Avery, and we are now living in Kentucky. I am greatly enjoying my life! My exercise and good eating regimen have gotten by the wayside for the most part though, and of that I am ashamed! So, I am trying to reform and get into really good shape. I plan on using my blog to help me stay accountable, and for other purposes too! I am taking 3 classes, being a pastor's wife, and helping my husband work in the colleges' kitchen. Needless to say, I am not getting quite the whole foods diet I was eating while living and working with the Cambells at Above Rubies. I am trying to stay away from too much carbs, so I am not going completely crazy there, but desserts have been my biggest downfall. They are just so good! I have just very recently gotten to walking for about 30 minutes at night, and I want to get into even more exercise too, so that is my goal! I did 3 sprints, 50 sit-ups, 100 leg exercises, and arm weights.&lt;br /&gt;I ate 2 apples, 3 eggs, grape juice, low-carb spagetti, chicken, salad, popcorn, and Diet Mountain Dew. I read my Bible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tuesday:&lt;br /&gt;I walked 6.5 laps around the circle, 3 sprints, 30 sit-ups, 30 leg-ups, 100 leg exercises, arm exercises w/weights. I ate apple slices, 1plum, a kefir/fruit smoothie, 2 kefir/spelt pancakes with yummy blueberries, Golden Syrup, real whipped cream, and butter. I also had venison, onions, potatoes, veggies, Zucchini bread, and mint tea.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Wednesday:&lt;br /&gt;I walked 5.25 laps around the circle, 3 sprints, 50 sit-ups, 30 leg-ups, 100 leg exercises, and arm exercises w/weights. I ate 2 apples w/peanut butter, raw milk, 2 eggs, salad, fruit, chicken salad cups, cucumber salad, and nachos w/cheese and organic beef.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thursday:&lt;br /&gt;I did 50 sit-ups, 100 leg exercises, and arm weights. I had 1qt. of fruit and raw milk smoothie,&lt;br /&gt;2 eggs w/3 cheeses, salad, Kai Sai, Min, and lots of veggies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Friday:&lt;br /&gt;I didn't really exercise, but I did housework, climbed the stairs a lot, and vacuumed. I ate 4 slices bread, Kai Sai Min, Lamb, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, cucumber salad, salad, mushrooms, mint sauce, and cheesecake w/berries and cream. I had raw milk, 2 eggs, Kai Sai Min, venison roast, onions, brown rice, veggies, 2 slices of sourdough bread, and part of a granola bar. I had 1qt. of a banana smoothie, a 3-egg omelette, mutton chops, sweet potatoes, salad, asparagus, and onions. I did read my Bible.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Friday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I walked 6 laps around the big circle, I ran 3 sprints, I did 50 sit-ups, I did arm exercises with my weights, and 100 leg exercises. I had fresh pinapple, raw milk, apple slices, fresh cheese, healthy snacks, Chai tea, Thai Soup w/chicken and mushrooms, salad, brown rice, bread, and grape juice. I love them! Then for supper, I had spaggetti and salad. The only exercise I did was walking around the mall!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Monday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had spaggetti for lunch, and I had two long walks, and one really hard hike with children along! It was quite an adventure!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Tuesday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had a banana for breakfast, I had a really good fruit and kefir smoothie for lunch. I think we had chicken wings for supper, rice, bread, and veggies. ( I think I am correct here) I don't think I exercised! Not good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wednesday: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had some fresh pineapple for breakfast. Lunch was salmon salad and avocado. Very delicious! For supper, we had really good macaroni and cheese, and lots of veggies. Later on I had some fruit too. I did the "Pumphouse Walk,", 50 situps, leg exercises, and some really good arm exercises with my 8lb. weights.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Thursday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had strawberries and grapes for breakfast, kefir and spelt pancakes w/Golden syrup, butter, and blueberries for lunch, and for supper I had quiche, salad, cauliflour, cucumbers, and carrots, etc. I only did about 20 or so sit-ups for exercise.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Friday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had a really good fruit and kefir smoothie for breakfast, and I had more smoothie and quiche for lunch, and for supper, I had healthy party food like chips and salsa, Triscuits and cheese, a dill pickle, popcorn w/hotsauce, and a healthy cake. It was good. Then I came back and did&lt;br /&gt;50 sit-ups, and a bunch of leg exercises. Lots of exercise!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wednesday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;I did nothing! Boooooo me!!! I did go to prayer meeting though. That was good&lt;br /&gt;soul exercise. I ate lots of food though. Spagetti, pizza, chocolate, salads, and&lt;br /&gt;sweet tea! Not really any self-control there!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Thursday: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was bad and didn't go on the "Pumphouse Hike" in the morning like some of the&lt;br /&gt;others did, so I did 50 sit-ups, and did some good leg exercises! For lunch, I had&lt;br /&gt;eggs and salad, and for supper I had sausages, cabbage, salad, mushrooms, and&lt;br /&gt;okra. It was healthy, but I had too much of it!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Friday: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I didn't have any breakfast. I had some strawberry smoothie with raw milk for&lt;br /&gt;lunch. For supper and snack, I had more smoothie, some chips and salsa, some&lt;br /&gt;popcorn, and two small chicken pieces. I did have a pretty long walk too, so that&lt;br /&gt;was good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Saturday:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had a fried egg sorta sandwich for lunch and some raw milk. I had some yummy trail mix (with chocolate) later while we watched a movie.  I did 50 sit-ups, 100 leg exercises, and I also did the "Pumphouse Hike!" Yay! I prayed too, it was a really nice time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Friday: &lt;/strong&gt;I went on a big hike/walk. It is very strenuous, up and down some pretty big hills.&lt;br /&gt;For these purposes I will call it the "Pumphouse walk" (our pumphouse is at the&lt;br /&gt;bottom of the hill, hence the name). Another name for it could be the "Get Fit Challenge." I want to carry it out this summer. At the end of the summer, or mid-August, I want to be in very good shape, and look very pretty. I plan on doing this by consuming a relatively low carb diet, and healthy stuff, and exercising every day. I want to do a lot of hiking and weights, and add in some other exercises too. I want to have a lot of fun. Maybe I will even do some more swimming! We hiked up a country road and back. There are hills on the road that give good exercise. It was good walking weather today. At one point I even took off my jacket, and was just wearing a t-shirt! I have to condition myself to not stop when it is hard, but to push myself. Now is the time that I need to. It's true, I have a cold, so I don't feel too good. But especially as soon as I feel better, I need to do hard things. I can't be a wimpy person. Now, if anyone else told me I was wimpy, I wouldn't like it, but I guess I can tell myself that for motivational purposes. At the same time, I don't guess I especially want to have the stereotype of a really tough person either, but especially in this area, I think it might be good. So, anyway, I need to go get some sleep, so I can feel better. down to see the vegetable patch&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Breakfast: &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-nothing&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Lunch:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- 3 pork tacos w/ lettuce, cheese, hot sauce.&lt;br /&gt;- Black beans&lt;br /&gt;-Mexican rice&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Supper:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- tortilla chips and mayonaise/chipotle sauce type='text'>Back to Exercise!</title><content type='html'>So, I have not really been exercising much lately, but I have purposed to get at it again. Today I did 100 arm rolls. And this evening I ran sprints in our field. Two sprints to be exact. I need to work up to more. My first one was pretty long though. Mary, my sister, did some too. I only ate one meal today, but it was a really good meal of rice and gravy, and pork roast, and carrots. The pork roast was farm-raised, so it was healthier than otherwise. Lisa, if you read this, thanks for the note about exercising in your newsletter. It is inspiring! It kinda stinks though. lol. I also bought some better smelling African lotion that I think has it in it, and it is supposed to help. The Shea Butter defintely moisturizes, and I will probably have to use it regularly to see the other results. I am also test driving a new product for me that I found at Whole Foods. It is Crystal deodorant spray. I have done press-ups, which are like pre-men's pushups. I have done stool-ups too, which give a good work out. Also the plank, which is where you get almost in a position of  a push up, but you hold yourself steady, to strenghthen your stomach muscles and core. That was Monday. Tuesday I did a couple of sprints, I ran as hard as I could as long as I could, and then walked back and did it again. That burns fat fast and is good for the metabolism. Wednesday I went over to Vange's house and lifted her 8 pound weights for 3 sets of about 20 times each. Quite a good arm work out! I will try to get pictures of these exercises soon. They are beautiful fit people with lots of kids. I decided that I need to exercise and get into very good shape, especially if I want to one day marry and have kids. I need to be in very good shape NOW! And I need to make it a lifestyle and stay with it. The virtuous woman strenghthened her arms. I will be doing some weight lifting, sprinting, and various other things. Variety is a big thing. In Psalms there is this verse about, "Our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace." Women are definitely meant to be beautiful as God made us.
